\u201cTrain up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b>Proverbs 22:6<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The question that plagues most parents is this: \u00a0How do I accomplish this?<\/p>\n

I. \u00a0Expose Them to the Word of God<\/h4>\n

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. \u00a0You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. \u00a0You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. \u00a0You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” \u00a0 \u00a0Deuteronomy 6:6-9<\/p>\n

Be Their Teacher<\/p>\n

    1. Live it before them.<\/li>\n
    2. Teach it to them.<\/li>\n
    3. Talk about it.<\/li>\n
    4. Honor it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n

      II. \u00a0Exhort Them As They Follow God<\/h4>\n

      \u201cAnd you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ephesians 6:4<\/p>\n

      Be their guide.\u00a0 (Guide them to walk with God)<\/p>\n

          1. Early on, your interests will become their interests.<\/li>\n
          2. They will tend to gravitate toward what you approve.<\/li>\n
          3. Explore their weaknesses and their victories with them.\n
